SPAIN

Updating this blog is going to be harder than i thought as internet is limited everywhere. But Spain was great. We arrived in Cadiz in southern Spain. The same day we arrived, a lot of us got on a train to Seville and then flew to .Ibiza. Ibiza is a small island of the coast of Spain in the Mediterranean. In one day, I was on a ship, bus, plane, and a train. Are hostel was alot better than i had thought it would be. Here is a view from our balcony.

A group of my good friends and I went on a speed boat tour around the island and we were able to go inside caves, see historical sights and houses, and swim in the clear water as the sun set.

Later that night we went to a club called Privileged which is the biggest club in the world with dj tiesto who is the biggest and most famous dj in the world and I had VIP access. The club was huge with a pool inside and lasers, crazy light, ladies hanging from the ceiling dancing and a huge stage with more ladies dancing. It was a mix between a club and a performance.

Leaving Ibiza our flight was delayed for about 4 hours so about 60 semester at sea student layed out all over the tiny apart. We flew Veuling air, the cheapest airline I ever been on, we even had to take a bus to the plane and walk up the stairs to get on.

The last day in Spain, I walked around Cadiz to look at the aged buildings of the city. It was really beautiful walking around the city and passing restaurant and cathedrals. I really like Spain, however it was extremely expensive. They use the Euros which is way strong than the US Dollar.

Left Spain to spend one night on the ship and then arrive in MOROCCO.

It has BEGUN!

I have arrive in Halifax, laying on my bed in a hostel after a extremely tiring and physical day. Yesterday, Tuesday the 24, woke up and continued to pack/clean my room. Was able to get everything I need in my bags and used my parent bathroom scale to weigh them. First on was 44 lb and the second 51 lb (close enough to 50). Then we were off to San Francisco airport and everything was surprisingly running smooth. Checked in "No Problem." Security "No Problem." But then things started to slow down. I was hungry so I waited in line at subway which took forever. Then got on plane and had a middle seat. The lady sitting next to me decides she wants to read a book on a red eye flight instead of sleeping like the rest of the plane, so she had the light shining down from the ceiling and NEVER turned it off. So I got no sleep and watched Iron Man 2.

I then made it to Toronto which is a very nice airport. However we had clear customs which was weird because I wasnt at my final destination. SO I HAD TO WAIT FOR MY LUGGAGE TO COME OFF THE PLANE, THEN CARRIED A HUGE BACKPACK, AND A 25 LB ROLLING CARRY-ON, AND A 49 LB HUGE ROLLING DUFFEL BAG, AND A 44 LB HUGE NON-ROLLING DUFFEL BAG ALL AT THE SAME TIME THROUGH THE AIRPORT. I was dripping sweat the whole time, eager to get on the plane and sleep plus I had a window to lean on. I get on the plane and I'm sitting right next to the emergency door. So I couldnt really get comfortable because I didnt want to lean on the door and fly out everywhere.

Got to Halifax and the had FREE carts to put luggage on. Waited about 45 min for shuttle to take me to hotel. Meet some other Semester at Sea Student. Shuttle dropped me off at the Westin which was two blocks away from my Hostel. That walk would normally be no problem but i had to CARRY A HUGE BACKPACK, AND A 25 LB ROLLING CARRY-ON, AND A 49 LB HUGE ROLLING DUFFEL BAG, AND A 44 LB HUGE NON-ROLLING DUFFEL BAG. Arrived at the Hostel around 1:30 however the staff was on their delightful lunch break and didnt come back till 2:30. Then they put me on the 3rd floor no elevator and I had to carry "MY LUGGAGE" up. Now I lay in the old and raggedy Hostel yearning to go to sleep. However I haven't eaten all day.

But with all that said, Im much happier to be here than in the US doing the same college thing I been doing for the past 3 years.

Welcome

Welcome to my Blog. In less than one week I will begin on my journey around the world on the MV Explorer. I will be leaving on Tuesday flying from San Fransisco to Toronto (2 hour layover) then to Halifax, Canada. I will be staying at the Hostel by the port. Hopefully none of the hostel I stay at resembles the movie. I finally will get to board the ship on Friday which I already anticipate a very long process, especially because of my last name, I will board towards the end. So for now I am packing making sure I don't forget anything. The real challenge is fitting everything in two small duffel bags.
